Elder Bill Starr

Bill Starr
Born September 9, 1956 in Jacksonville, Florida.

Family:
Married Cindy Sears in 1978. He and Cindy have 3 children, Bethany Sharp (28), Janell Iyer (27) and Jordan Aspinwall (24).

Education:
Bill graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1979 with a Degree in Science Education. He received his Masters of Arts in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1983.

Church & Christian Background:
Bill was raised in the church and understood the gospel at an early age. He was
unwilling to commit to Christ until he was a senior in high school. He attended
an FCA event and heard the gospel as he had countless times before. This time it gripped his heart. He met with the speaker from the FCA event after the meeting and he acknowledged he was a sinner and in need of a savior. He placed his trust in the work of Christ and became a child of God.

Bill has been a Christian for 35 years, has attended Living Hope Baptist Church
for the last 6 years, and became a member 5 years ago.

Bill has been a teacher for ABF, 3-4 year olds, 4th grade boy’s large group & also a
shepherd. He’s participated in mission trips to Honduras, Ukraine, and Lynch, KY
as well as, been a member of a small group, taught the High School large group, lead a home bible study, and taught Sunday night elective classes and the Chinese Fellowship. He also preaches every 3rd Sunday for the Chinese Church.

Bill has served as deacon, Sunday school teacher, youth group assistant, and bible study leader at other churches before coming to LHBC. He also leads a bible study with a group of men with whom he works. He is currently a manager at the Corvette Assembly Plant here in Bowling Green and has been with General Motors for the past 24 years.
