The International Mission Board (IMB)
As a Southern Baptist Church, we take great pride in joining SBC missionaries on the field with the International Mission Board (IMB). The IMB is an entity of the Southern Baptist Convention, the nation's largest evangelical denomination, claiming more than 40,000 churches with nearly 16 million members. The board's main objective is presenting the Gospel of Jesus Christ in order to lead individuals to saving faith in Him and result in church-planting movements among all the peoples of the world.

The following are areas of connection with Living Hope Baptist Church and the IMB.
East Asia
China has 170 cities with populations over 1 million. The US has 9. There are more than 435 ethnic minority groups in China. Of the 435 people groups, less than 70 have an evangelical population greater than 2%. China has one birth every 1.5 seconds. Each year, more people are born in China than the entire population of Texas. This year, 7.4 million people will die without Christ. That's almost the entire population of New York City. http://easia.imb.org/

South Asia
From the mighty Himalayas to the Ganges River to exotic tropical islands...from urban sprawl to remote villages...from mountain-top kingdoms to ancient civilizations...from majestic temples to lowly shacks...from Buddhist monks to rickshaw drivers -- South Asia has it all. There are over a billion people from all walks of life in South Asia -- Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims and tribal peoples -- who don't know the One True God. There are more than 800 million Hindus in India, nearly three times the entire population of the United States. The seven countries of South Asia are home to about one out of five people in the world. Most have never heard the Gospel even once! More Muslims live in South Asia than in the entire Middle East, yet they account for less than 15 percent of the total population. The Unengaged Unreached People Groups in South Asia have a population of over 400 million people. That's larger than the USA population and the populations of many parts of the world. http://www.go2southasia.org/

West Africa
The IMB missionaries of West Africa are called to participate with God, individually, corporately, and as facilitators of others, in evangelizing the peoples of West Africa, in discipling them in the Word, and in planting CPM-oriented Baptist churches. More than 300 people groups in West Africa are considered unreached and unengaged. Among these people, little or no evangelism and church planting activity is being done by any Christian organization. Many of West Africa's unengaged peoples have populations of less than 100,000, and it is unlikely that full-time missionaries will ever live among them. About 40 West African people groups have IMB missionaries working among them. They are considered unreached people groups because less than 2% of the population is Christian. However, we also consider them engaged people groups because, although there are few or no believers, there is a missionary team dedicated to starting a church planting movement among that people group. http://www.gowestafrica.org

Independent Mission Organizations
Living Hope Baptist Church works with other mission agencies that are not affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. These are great organizations that meet many needs of the people in various areas of the world.

Abraham Project
Project Abraham is a Christian based, multi-national effort uniting individuals, families, churches, and communities to reach out to children and youth trapped in a life of poverty and abuse in Costa Rica. They are helping young people break out of these destructive cycles and imparting the love, confidence, and security of Christ.
