Gift for Christ
Gift For Christ Offering 2010The GFC offering is a vital for Living Hope missions. With the money given, Living Hope is allowed to financially help missionaries on the field, send our own missionaries, financially help some missions agencies, educate our church about missions and help start a new orphan care ministry at Living Hope. The goal for 2010 is $150,000. If we reach this goal, Living Hope will be able to go to places where people are in spiritual darkness and desperately needs to hear about the saving message of the Gospel. This goal is obtainable. We have about 1000 active giving units in our church (families and singles). If each unit would commit to giving $150 for the offering, the goal will easily be met.
The Gift for Christ Offering Breakdown: Goal: $150,000
Missionary Support: 40% ($60,000). This goes to helping career missionaries. Some of this money is used for the Annie Armstrong (NAMB) and Lottie Moon (IMB) offerings. This money goes straight to the national and international missionaries of our Southern Baptist agencies. We will be giving to missionaries with ties to Living Hope like Eric and Marylynn Kindberg (Wycliff) and Jason Harpst (Project Abraham). Some of these funds will also go toward helping indigenous church planters in Niger and India.
Living Hope International Mission Trips: 38% ($57,000). This year Living Hope is looking to send out 9 teams to the following areas: 3 trips to West Africa, Central Asia, Costa Rica, France, East Asia, and South Asia. Some of the country names are not mentioned because of the security risks. Gift for Christ support makes our mission trips more affordable for people to reach out to areas of the world that have not heard about the saving Grace of Jesus Christ.
Local Missional Agencies: 8.67% ($13,000). Our church supports two great ministries - Warren Association of Baptists and Hope House. These ministries seek to reach out to our community in order to enrich peoples lives mentally, physically, and spiritually.
Missions Education: 6.67% ($10,000). This year, leadership seeks to educate the church more about the missional needs in our world. The church will bring missionaries in to speak for various missions emphasis. We will start to develop a more missional environment around the church that will make us more aware of prayer needs, people groups, and missionaries in the field.
Orphan Care: 6.67% ($10,000). There are plans in the works to start an orphan care ministry. This ministry will educate us about foster care and adoption; and provide help for those pursuing adoption.
This offering is a great way to financially provide for some great ministries. Please be in prayer for how you can give to such a worthy offering.
